Can I opt out of Dutch social security?

Generally no. If you are employed in the Netherlands, you are subject to Dutch social security. Exceptions: posted workers from EU/EEA countries with an A1 certificate, and workers from countries with bilateral social security treaties (e.g., USA, Japan, South Korea).

Do I build AOW pension as an expat?
